Terms of use

Educational information, not medical advice

Everything on this site — the planner, the icons, and the guides — is for general educational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare provider. The descriptions attached to each icon are plain-language explanations, not clinical recommendations. Always discuss your birth preferences and any medical questions with your own provider, who knows your history.

No guarantees about outcomes

A birth plan states your preferences. It does not, and cannot, guarantee how your birth will unfold. Your care team may need to adapt in the moment for your safety and your baby's. Every plan you create includes a note to that effect.

Use of the tool

You're welcome to use the planner for yourself, and — if you're a doula, educator, or clinician — with the people you support. The plan you create is yours to print, share, and adapt.

Affiliate relationships

Some links on our guides and gear pages are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission on purchases made through them at no extra cost to you. These are always disclosed. A recommendation is our honest opinion, not a paid placement, and it never affects the free planner.

Availability

We aim to keep the site available and accurate, but we provide it “as is” without warranties, and we may update or change it over time.

Changes to these terms

If we make meaningful changes, we'll reflect them here. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
